Andando por el \u201ccentro\u201d de Manhattan (Midtown, que le dicen), decididamente entr\u00e9 al Grand Central Terminal. Quer\u00eda hacer fotos dentro, para capturar algo de los cambios que le hicieron para la celebraci\u00f3n de los 100 a\u00f1os de su construcci\u00f3n. El tama\u00f1o de su vest\u00edbulo principal es inmenso, especialmente para una estructura que no tiene columnas en el medio, sino s\u00f3lo a los lados. Es como la nave principal de una gran catedral. Y esta comparaci\u00f3n no es s\u00f3lo en t\u00e9rminos arquitect\u00f3nicos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Este vest\u00edbulo alberga a viajeros, visitantes, turistas, gente local y trabajadores de la Gran Manzana. El movimiento es constante, especialmente cuando los trenes llegan y la gente baja de los trenes a las plataformas y luego al vest\u00edbulo para decidir si ir\u00e1n al subterr\u00e1neo, o saldr\u00e1n a tomar un taxi, o esperar\u00e1n a alguien con quien continuar la traves\u00eda. Qui\u00e9n sabe. El ajetreo es incesante y una gran oportunidad para el observador, especialmente si este trae una c\u00e1mara consigo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Decid\u00ed hacer varias fotos del vest\u00edbulo principal, de las grandes ventanas, de la gente andando y viniendo. Tambi\u00e9n decid\u00ed hacer una serie de tomas en secuencia para integrarlas en una imagen animada (GIF).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

El resultado de una de estas secuencias est\u00e1 abajo. Quise contrastar el movimiento de la gente con la estancia de un grupo de chicas que descansaban sentadas en el suelo. Me gusta ver c\u00f3mo una de ellas sigue el movimiento de alguien que camina detr\u00e1s de suyo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
